 Occlusal Guard (Nightguard) Care Instructions

*Wear your nightguard each night to properly protect your teeth 

*Before inserting the guard in you mouth, run the guard under warm water for 15-20 seconds. This will soften the internal liner and make insertion easier and more comfortable.  (Full arch guards only)

*Recommended cleaning is to rinse daily with cold water and clean with a gentle soap using your fingers. We discourage using a toothbrush and toothpaste since this will cause the material to become porous and collect bacteria.

*It can take 4-6 weeks of consistent use to adjust to your guard. If it feels uncomfortable for any reason after this time, let us know and we can usually make an adjustment to help.

*It is also recommended to bring your guard to each of your regularly scheduled appointments to have it professionally cleaned.
