Crown & Bridge Post Operative Instructions
Crown & Bridge Post Operative Instructions
If you have just had a crown or bridge cemented onto your tooth, please follow these instructions:
Do: Brush thoroughly and gently as your gums may be sore from the procedure. Keep area clean and free of bacteria and plaque.
Do: Eat softer foods on that side of the mouth for the first 1-2 days. It is normal for the crown to be cold sensitive and tender to chew on intially. Any sensitivity will slowly go away over the coming weeks.
Don’t: Floss the first 24 hours. After that, you can floss like normal.
If your crown feels like it is in the way when you are chewing during the first week, reach out to the office. This may mean you need further adjustments that can be quickly done.
